The Bisasar Road landfill gas flare has surpassed 100 000 operating hours and counting.
The 2000Nm3/h Hofstetter HTF (high temperature flare) was commissioned in 2007 as part of the Durban landfill-gas-to-electricity CDM project and has been running ever since, with a cumulative online time >98% (including trips during load shedding).
This is a great achievement for combustion equipment operating for 13 years in a corrosive environment and bears testament to the design and quality of Swiss-made Hofstetter products.
